Q. How come in movies, when people walk into a dark room and they try the lights only to find out that the bulb is dead, they keep on flipping the switch?
A. Most reasonable explanation is because obviously the light was sleeping, and now that you just woke him up he's pretty pissed, so yeah it's not going to turn on anytime soon, at least while your in the room.
